Was tun, wenn’s brennt?

This 2001 Til Schweiger film focuses on Berlin in the 80s – and the punk life that dominated the era, and how that affected the (former) punks as the years went on.

Next to Til Schweiger in this cast are: Martin Feifel, who can be seen in Agnes und seine Brüder, Buddenbrooks, and Rosenstraße, among many other films; Sebastian Blomberg, whom we know from Anatomie and Alles auf Zucker!; Nadja Uhl, who can be seen in Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex; and Matthias Matschke, also in Sonnenallee, has more or less transitioned into comedy with series such as Sketch History.

This film could be the backbone of discussions about choices made by youth, politics and how they’ve changed since the Cold War, or a comparison of different aspects of German society.

This film is rated R in the U.S. mostly for drug use and language (it’s worse in the English translation), but there is some mild nudity at the beginning of the film with the setup of the plot (a man urinating is seen from the front and a few of the punks lie in bed naked.
