This 2005 film features Moritz Bleibtreu as our main character, Mimi Nachtigal. Mimi’s love interest is Venus Morgenstern. The names alone show us a little romantic comedy influence, though the romance quickly dies off into drama.
Heino Ferch, who plays Ronnie in Lola rennt and the ski instructor in Winterschläfer, joins us as Hermis / Aphrodite in this film. For some reason, Aphrodite is helping to cross the River Styx… Aphrodite is a very cruel goddess in this movie…
Not Moritz Bleibtreu’s best movie, but it has its moments. There is some nudity at various points through the film that could be edited or skipped with care.
