This film is a 2001 romantic comedy. We follow a young man’s adventure into early career and other aspects of young adult life.
Viktor is played by Alexander Scheer (of Sonnenallee fame). Götz George, who has since died, played an older businessman. We’ve seen him in Zettl. International actress Chulpan Khamatova is the love interest. Good Bye Lenin was perhaps her biggest film to date. She also works in theatre. But perhaps the most recognizable face in this film is Maria Schrader. You may recognize her from Deutschland 83/86/89 (all three series), Rosenstraße, Emil und die Detektive, Bin ich schön, Keiner liebt mich, and many others.
As a rom-com, there are scenes inappropriate for all viewers. There are, however, clips that may be interesting for the classroom. For example, Viktor introduces himself often and to many people. Watching clips of his introductions and comparing them to how the others introduce themselves and/or respond could be an interesting study.
