Steiner – Das eiserne Kreuz, 2. Teil

Although this 1979 film is originally in German, English, and French, carries an original German title, was produced in West Germany, and stars several German speaking actors, it is obvious with the dubbing quality that English was the original audio.

One major reason for this abnormality may be our main star, British actor Richard Burton. Many of his films covered real events and featured actors more local to the stories.

German actor Helmut Griem is an interesting one to follow as well. He can also be found in the 1988 version of Faust (as Faust himself), The Plot to Kill Hitler (which was essentially a 1990 version of Valkyrie), as well as Der zerbrochene Krug.

This film is rated PG in the U.S. While there is some war violence involved, there is little gore, even considering the release date. There is implied sex and at 29 minutes in, we see a nude woman from behind. A woman is sexually assaulted an hour and 14 minutes in. This is caught and stopped by another soldier and nothing is visible, but may be triggering to some viewers.
