This 2005 film is based on the true story of Sophie Scholl, an anti-Nazi activist during WWII. She was a member of the resistance group the White Rose. This film is based on a collection of records found from her investigation in 1943.
Many of the actors’ best-known films are, along with this one, other WWII movies. One thing I have noticed so far with German films on this subject is that they are the most detailed and most based on truths rather than being more interested in the special effects and action.
There is nothing beyond PG-13 level in this film. Be sure to watch through the first bit of credits for more history. Photographs of the real Sophie Scholl and her family and friends are the background for the rest of the credits.
