Schubert in Love: Vater werden ist (nicht) schwer

This 2016 comedy is currently available on Netflix.

Olaf Schubert plays himself, kind of. Fans of German stand up and other such comedy may recognize him. His father is played by Mario Adorf, a Swiss-born man of Italian descent. He is can be found in several European films in many languages, but one German film you may recognize is Die Blechtrommel. Next to them, Marie Leuenberger plays Pamela. You may recognize her from Die göttliche Ordnung.

The main theme of this film is attempting to find a woman to have children with. This touches on themes such as generational issues, families in different societies, and factors that impact the quality of life, but should be considered as clips. There are also short clips that would be useful when discussing political challenges. There are repeating themes with demonstrations and protests between what is to be seen as a conservative view and a liberal view of tolerance on the subject, but it remains open-ended enough for advanced conversations.

There are moments where women are seen in towels or undergarments. 52 minutes in there is an implied sex scene, but nothing beyond the PG-13 level.
