This 2017 Netflix film is marketed as a teen movie and is rated TV-PG.
Our star is Lena Klenke. We may recognize her from Victoria, Fack ju Göhte (the series), and Das schweigende Klassenzimmer. Next to her is Emilio Sakraya, whom we learned about in Bibi und Tina – voll verhext. Another face we may recognize from Bibi und Tina is Milan Peschel. Born in East Berlin, Peschel has had quite a few interesting roles. Students may recognize him from Mark Forster’s Sowieso music video. He was also in a few Winnetou films, Irre sind männlich, Die Abenteuer des Huck Finn, and Schwarze Schafe to name a few. Impressively still actively acting is Dieter Hallervorden. Born in 1935, his first role was an uncredited one in Die 1.000 Augen des Dr. Mabuse back in 1960. Some other big-name films he’s made an appearance in include: Der Experte, 1 1/2 Ritter, and Honig im Kopf. You may also recognize Vedat Erincin, especially from Almanya: Willkommen in Deutschland.
While definitely on the predictable side, this film touches on healthcare and family relationships and may therefore be useful in the classroom. It’s also a good film for those who enjoy horses.
