Pettersson und Findus 2 – Das schönste Weihnachten überhaupt

This 2016 sequel is currently available on Netflix. It is a family film and is rated TV-G. (Please note: it does not appear that Netflix currently has the other Pettersson und Findus films. This post only covers this Christmas film.)

Pettersson is played by Stefan Kurt, a Swiss-born actor. He played Albert Speer in Mein Führer and was also in Große Mädchen weinen nicht, but most of his roles are still outside of my viewing history. I’m sure we’ll learn more about him in the future – some of these films look interesting!

This film style is very similar to Pumuckl. A combination of live and animation, with a trouble-making non-human character being animated.

This film may be good for first year students, as there is repetition and covers weather, groceries, celebrations, and other traditions good for the newer language learners. There are cute conversations about easily misunderstood/misheard words, for example: Freunde and Freude. Essentially, it boils down to traditions and perspectives, as far as AP themes are concerned.
