Lila Lila

Currently available on Amazon, this 2009 film stars Daniel Brühl as a shy waiter who claims to have written a popular manuscript.

Alongside Brühl is Hannah Herzsprung, playing Marie. She’s been in a range of popular films and shows, such as Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex, Babylon Berlin, Ludwig II, and The Reader.

Henry Hübchen plays a critical role here as well. We may recognize him from Alles auf Zucker, Jakob der Lügner (1974 version), Die Abenteuer des Huck Finn, Goethe!, and Sonnenallee.

Kirsten Block plays a publisher. She’s recently been seen in Deutschland 86 and Berlin Station, but she can also be found in smaller roles in several films over the years.

There are no overly questionable scenes. There are interesting conversation starters in the realms of relationships, honesty, literature culture, and other daily life situations.
