Kammerflimmern

Released in 2004, this film with Matthias Schweighöfer and Jessica Schwarz is marketed as a drama-romance.

Another interesting cast member to take note of is Florian Lukas, who plays Richie. He was also in Good Bye, Lenin!, Nordwand, FC Venus, and many other movies and TV series.

There are many potential triggers for those who may be squeamish or have trauma in their past. The main character, known as Crash, has flashbacks to his childhood when he lost his parents. He is a paramedic as an adult, so he sees many difficult situations day in and day out.

At the risk of spoiling a major plot point – there is an interesting take on the afterlife that ties some of the characters together in an interesting way and could lead to a great discussion.

There are scenes of sexual situations and nudity (both in sexual context as well as otherwise), drug use and alcohol abuse.
