Im Juli

  • by

Released in 2000, Im Juli is a romantic comedy. Moritz Bleibtreu plays a student teacher named Daniel.  Single and without much luck in love in the past, he meets a couple women who surprise him and fascinate him. He thinks he’s chasing one of them, but ends up getting to know the other.

They get separated along the way, and Daniel must face the world with no money, no passport, and no street smarts.  It’s a humorous view of awkward people trying to find love.

There is a series of swear words at the beginning of the film, including one recognizable in English. There is also a scene of drug use that quickly becomes a lesson as to why drugs are bad. This film remains unrated in the U.S., though there are now member ratings on IMDB that suggest moderate to severe parental warnings (the severe sections due to the scenes mentioned above).
