This film is half animated / half live-action and the combination works incredibly well for it! Released in 2006, this Bully (Michael Herbig) film is appropriate for children, but can be enjoyed by all ages.
Christoph Maria Herbst plays König Julius der 111. An interesting character, and next to Hui Buh among the most important. He can also be found in Er ist wieder da, Jerry Cotton, Zwei Weihnachtsmänner, and Wickie und der starken Männer. Great comedian with a wide variety of styles!
The main female role is played by Heike Makatsch, who has also extended into the English language film with Love Actually, Resident Evil, and The Book Thief. As far as other German language films go, she can also be found in Tom Sawyer, Anatomie 2, and Bin ich schön?.
Even Nick Brimble, a British actor known for A Knight’s Tale and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, joins this cast. This appears to be his only German language film.
Hui Buh is an interesting show to watch in class, either just for fun, or even to discuss aristocracy, greed, karma, etc.
