Das fliegende Klassenzimmer

  • by

This 2003 version is a story of a boys’ boarding school of music and their rivalry with another school.  It is winter in Berlin and the schools are preparing their Christmas performances.  Some of the pranks are a little Home Alone-style, but mostly it’s just random childish fun.

We meet our main character as he arrives in Berlin, a late transfer to the school.  He’s your stereotypical outsider who wants to please the others and earn himself friends.  He becomes a bit of a hero to the rest of the kids and is able to bring people together just in time for Christmas.  A nice little feel-good ending finishes off this children’s movie quite well.

This story is a classic and several versions are available. Generally, I lean towards modern versions of such films because our students tend to connect with them better.
