Known as Mostly Martha in the States, this 2001 movie was redone only a few years later in Hollywood as No Reservations, which starred George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
We meet Martha, an uptight chef who is in a therapy appointment, and quickly see why her attitude landed her with that requirement. She’s a perfectionist at work and at everything related to cooking. She enjoys cooking for others and quickly feels offended when her food is rejected. Martha must deal with a family emergency, which changes the way she must deal with people. It comes with some relatable struggles and a feel-good ending.
Bella Martha is rated PG in the U.S. and is completely okay for the classroom. There are also materials available for purchase for this film.
