This 1997 film with Katja Riemann (not to be confused by the 2001 movie of the same name but featuring Bruce Willis) had been my favorite movie for years. The rating means I don’t get to share it with my students, however.
A group of musically talented female inmates break out of jail and are on the run while their music becomes more and more popular on the radio. (Seriously, how could one not enjoy this film, right?) They meet an American man along the way who creates some tension between the younger women, but they continue their journey anyway.
Talented actresses and a great soundtrack make this movie highly enjoyable for those okay with rated R movies, but it has little educational value.
